Fine-textured evergreen bunch grass from Peru and Central America. Grows to 2-3' tall and 12" wide and topped with long feathery plumes in summer that move in the slightest breeze. Great planted in mass or as an understory in open shade. Also excellent planted with agaves, rock roses, lavender, and other heat-resistant plants that prefer well drained soils. Makes a good container plant. Full sun to light shade. USDA zone 8
