The Story

One of the largest clump forming Nolina, this evergreen grass-like can produce 4-6' tall x wide with shiny green arching fillifer-tipped leaves. Flowers in spring and early summer occasionally surpassing 6'. The male is cream in color, and female cream to chartreuse. Native to south Texas' big bend region, they love occasional summer water, otherwise quite drought tolerant and resistant to heat and cold to at least 5-10 degrees F. Good for a bright sunny spot in the garden to create a year-round steroidal meadow effect. USDA zone 7b.
