The Story
A tall tussock grass, to 6 ft, from high elevation New Zealand with olive-green blades tinted bronze-orange, a color New Zealand does very well. Summer flowers are in white panicles on tall stems looking a bit like pampas grass, but more open -- the flowers and foliage creating a lovely presence especially when backlit. Sun to dappled shade. Tolerant of many soils as well as summer drought, once established. Accepts moisture as well. USDA zone 8.
