Cultivar of a South African native perennial bulb, this one with bright pink, “pineapple”-like flowers on 2ft mahogany stalks in August - September. Long, narrow tropical looking leaves form robust 2ft. clumps in time. Best in full sun to part shade, in rich well drained soil and summer water where dry. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7; lower with mulch. Avoid overly wet winter soils.
