This South African bulb, a tender amaryllis relation, was shared with us by Nevin Smith of Watsonville. Foliage is semi-evergreen in mid USDA zone 9. Best in bright shade with well-drained soil and average summer water. A great container plant for the patio or in a plunge bed where it can be put away for the hard winter. Frost hardy in USDA zone 8.
