The Story

Majestic and rare, this lily relative can eventually (in 3 or so years) reach a jaw-dropping 8-12 ft tall. Leaves are tinted red. In summer, (after 3 or so years) intoxicatingly fragrant, trumpet-shaped white flowers have pink to red throats and reach up to 10" long. This plant requires patience and commitment to be sure, but is well worth it. If you're gonna brag about anything in your garden, let it be this. Plant in part sun to shade in moist, rich soil. Hardy to 0F, USDA zone 7.
