Striking hybrid bromeliad with rosettes of bright green leaves and dark, hieroglyphic banding. Fabulous! Known as King of the Bromeliads, a single plant can reach up to 3' wide with flower spikes up to 2-3' high bearing creamy yellow flowers. Grow in humid shade and add fresh water to the central cup of the rosette every week or so. Only hardy to USDA zones 10/11, so best grown in a pot for easy transport before frost.
