A Cistus Nursery introduction. Indeed, our collection from the serpentines west of the mountain of the same name, in SW Oregon. This little evergreen winter-growing succulent grows to only 2-3" in height, and in habitat making small clusters of rosettes, reddish green in winter, eye-crossing pinkish red in summer, particularly striking if you happen to live on a serpentine slope covered with blue rocks. In captivity fast-ish growing to about 18" wide, by 3-4" tall in a season. Small pinkish white flowers. Great for containers. Extreme summer drought, or not, prefers cool winter moisture, probably USDA zone 6.
