Asian relative of our Western, North American tan oak, this beautiful, broad-leaved evergreen fairly quick to 30', more in time, has outstandingly long, narrow leaves, sometimes 2" x 14", and as luck would have it, one of the hardiest of the lithocarps, having proven successful in southern New England's USDA zone 6. Full sun, to a more layered look in dappled shade. Prefers decent drainage.
