The Story
Another very cold hardy introduction by Walters Gardens with dark olive-green leaves with a red edge in late summer licorice red flower stems open to salmon pink flowers. A dwarf to 2 to 3 feet in western Michigan; we suspect it will be a rounded shrub to 6 feet or more where it does not die back to the ground every winter. Fortunately it blooms on new growth so flowers will not be lost to pruning when needed. Best in full sun with regular summer water. USDA zone 6. PP29940
