*RETAIL - Hippeastrum x johnsonii

These Amaryllis, sent to us from northern Florida, maintain evergreen foliage though can go winter dormant below 25F. Otherwise hardy at least into the single digits, USDA zone 7, with a bit of mulch. The flowers, amazing crimson trumpets with a striking white stripe on each petal, are produced freely in spring and sometimes through summer for great tropical effect. Prefers sun to dappled shade in hottest climates and consistent summer moisture for best growth. Very good container plant.
