The Story
This golden flowering Cistus cousin is at home wherever its rockrose kin would be comfortable - e.g., in fierce heat and lean soil with good drainage and little summer water once established. To 3 ft tall and nearly as wide with evergreen foliage -- ever-gray, in fact -- and 2" wide, golden-yellow flowers with a burgundy center continuing over a long blooming period, from early May to July. Frost hardy in USDA zone 8.
