The Story
Brought to Portland many years ago by an Italian sailor and kept by his wife Stella. Can bear large, deliciously sweet fruits in about 1-2 years. Unlike many figs, fruits ripen well in our PNW climate, around the end of July. Grows to about 8-10 ft tall if not pruned smaller. Full sun to light shade, best in rich well-draining soil. Hardy to USDA zone 7.
