The Story
A rarely offered member of the Hydrangea family, this semi-evergreen multi-stemmed shrub is native to mountain regions throughout the American Southwest into northern Mexico. Creamy four-petaled flowers emerge from bright pink buds in spring to early summer. Upright vase shaped habit to 6-8ft tall and half as wide with warm brown stems aging to shreddy silvery-grey. For sun in well drained soil and little water once established. Cold hardy to USDA zone 4. Very tolerant of alkaline soils.
