This handsome biennial produces attractive low mounds of rounded grey-green foliage 12-18" across. The second season, branched stalks rise above the foliage 2-3ft carrying creamy white flowers surrounded by spiny silvery bracts. Excellent cut flower and much loved by pollinators. For sun to part shade in any decently drained soil, tolerates periodic drought. USDA zone 5. Collect seeds or allow to self sow.
