Clusters of dainty pale pink flowers with deeper pink centers on thin stalks are lovely in spring, standing above medium green, heart-shaped leaflets, red-tinted in spring's new growth and turning deep red in the fall. This herbaceous perennial is only about 6" tall and spreads to forms clumps up to 1.5ft wide, making a wonderful woodland groundcover. Best in light shade in well-drained soil. Enjoys moist summer soil but tolerates periods of drought. Frost hardy in USDA zone 5 to 8.
