The Story
Very slender, lacy pinnae give this male fern a super airy look and a light, interesting texture. Semi-evergreen in our area - divide and trim back in spring. A fairly large fern to an eventual 3-4ft tall and wide. Plant in moist, well-draining soil, away from strong winds that could damage fronds. Part to full shade. Potentially hardy all the way to zone 3, but becomes fully deciduous in cold winters.
