The Story
A relatively new introduction selected in the United Kingdom, this ground covering shrub, remaining under 2ft tall by 6ft wide, has small apple-green leaves reminiscent of C. salvifolia, one of its parents, and a smothering of one inch, white flowers centered red, in spring and sporadically through the season. Very charming and particularly at home in the dry summer gardens of the West Coast. Shearing back after the first flowering increases compactness. For full sun or only lightly dappled shade and average to lean soil. A very good container or bank plant. Reasonably frost hardy to about 15F, mid USDA zone 8.
