The Story

An especially hardy bottlebrush, to 5-6ft tall by 4ft wide. Bright crimson summer flowers are adored by hummingbirds. Foliage is green with reddish, purplish tinges in winter. Full sun for best flowering. Drought and lean soil tolerant. Easily evergreen at 5 F - mid USDA zone 7. The parent plant of this clone survived a North Carolina winter that dropped to -9F, the bottom of zone 6 re-sprouting from the roots.
