This attractive native of coastal central California is a useful addition to the summer dry garden. A low mounding habit to 3 feet tall and 5 feet wide. Small evergreen foliage over ruddy brown bark, is excellent as a low hedge or foundation planting. Pale pink bell flowers in late winter are great forage for native pollinators. Accepting of some summer water provided sharp drainage. Full sun to partial shade (afternoon shade best in hot inland climates.) USDA zone 8
