The Story
Another special Arcto. Taller and larger-leaved than other cultivars of the species, this has more of that California manzanita, “summer water is for pansies” presence to it. Dark, mahogany bark and lovely pink bell flowers late winter into spring. Evergreen, to 6ft tall or so by 5ft wide in well-drained soil; full sun on the coast and, perhaps, a bit of afternoon shade inland. Drought tolerant but accepts occasional summer water. Cold hardy to 5F, mid USDA zone 7.
