The Story
Delightful member of the genus Araucaria, or the Monkey Puzzles; one of a few that seem reliable in the Willamette Valley. This, our collection from its habitat Iguaza Falls between Argentina and Brazil. Planted in the garden in 2002, these are now producing seeds, and therefore seedlings. So homegrown, these are to about 30 to 40 feet, with plumy foliage, and large cones that disintegrate as they become ripe. Zone 8, full sun to very light shade, at least before they make their own.
