We'll make up a new common name for this: the Western Wattle. These spiny creatures, widespread in the SW US and Mexico (these from Wa Co, Utah), grow 4-5ft. Ferny small-scale, gray-green foliage with wafty white flowers in late spring. Gracile stems appearing quite dainty, but a bit bold when you get tangled in their spininess. Full sun, decently drained soil, USDA zone 7. Can't resist, eh?
