Handsome evergreen tree, slow growing to 10ft tall x 6ft wide, eventually (and very slowly) to 20ft tall. A colorful creature, with green needles that shine with white undersides, appearing bluish and bright. Cones are bright purple and held high adding more color. Best in full sun where soil is moist and well-drained but not soggy. Prefers cool climates and does poorly in heat and humidity in areas south of USDA zone 7. Frost hardy to -20, USDA zone 5.
