Plants, in clumps to 3 ft wide, are usually herbaceous, dying back in winter's frost to return in spring -- occasionally staying evergreen in a mild winter. Best in full sun and well-drained soil with at least occasional summer water. Frost hardy to -10F, USDA zone 6.
