The Story
A dense and compact but vigorous variety of the Mediterranean fan palm. Discovered by Vivai Volcano Nursery in Sicily and named for the nearby island. Short stiff leaves form a hemispheric dome of foliage, eventually to about 6 ft tall by 5 ft wide. Site in full to part sun. Cold hardy in upper USDA zone 8 but be prepared to throw a blanket over it if temps dip below 15F, mid USDA zone 8.
