CA. from plants intermediate with ssp. wieslanderi. 8 to 10 ft possibly taller with upright habit and 2 inch shiny green leaves subtended by red petioles and stems; the trunks a very warm orange/brown. Flowers in trusses of white sometimes aging to a very light pink from December into February. Can be tip pruned for screening or lifted into a small tree form. An easier than average manzanita if given light, if any summer water in almost any but waterlogged soil. 3/4 sun+ USDA zone 7.
