The Story
Agave nickelsiae, while diminutive, is a stunner in the sunny garden. Formally known as Agave ferdinandi-regis, this slow grower eventually reaches 1-2 feet high and wide. Leaves are blue-green and form a stout rosette, with reddish-brown leaf margins continuing to the spine tip. Site in full sun and well-drained soil with only very occasional summer water. Hardy to nearly 10F with good drainage. Protect in containers below upper USDA zone 8.
